Abyan Security Clarifies Death of Mohammed Ali Saeed Habil

The security leadership of Abyan Governorate has issued an official statement addressing the circumstances surrounding the death of 52-year-old citizen Mohammed Ali Saeed Habil, who worked at a scrap yard in Jaar.

Abyan security officials explicitly stated that the Khanfar Security Department holds no legal or criminal responsibility for the incident.

Preliminary investigation results, conducted by a special committee established on May 31, 2026, confirmed that the detention of the deceased was carried out by the National Security Agency rather than the Khanfar police.

Security records indicate that the citizen was transferred to the 7th of October camp on May 23, 2026, and subsequently passed away on May 28, 2026.

Following the incident, the acting commander of the Khanfar sector for the National Security Agency, Ali Saeed, has been suspended from duty pending a full investigation.

The Abyan security leadership confirmed that the body of the deceased has been transferred from Al-Razi Hospital to the capital city, Aden, for an official autopsy by the forensic medical department to determine the exact cause of death.

The security command emphasized that all legal procedures are being followed with direct oversight to ensure the integrity of the investigation and the administration of justice.
